About the Team: The Operations Center is the human engine that drives 24/7 threat detection, contextualization and event validation. Staffed by passionate and driven individuals, the validation team is the key to ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the detected event data being delivered to clients/customers/subscribers. The Operations Center is overseen by the Director of Operations, who creates a dynamic culture through passion and expertise. The Operations Center team is supported by the fierce, passionate individuals that make up the DataCapable team.
Role Description
Only individuals interested in making a real and meaningful change should consider this position. Every detected event has a real-life impact; therefore, it must go through a thorough verification process before approval/rejection. Clients and the public count on DataCapable’s Operations Center and the team that supports it to ensure that every alert is checked for validity, topic, and location accuracy. The Operations Center Analysts report directly to the Manager of the Operations Center.
DataCapable isn’t looking for average individuals with just high attention to detail to join our Operations Center team, but exceptional people who believe that every day their actions can be impactful. Because the Operations Center team works remotely and covers various shifts, the Analysts must be comfortable with communicating via Slack and other remote platforms and must be able to identify and escalate emergent needs as they arise. This position is critical in providing only the highest quality notifications and alerts to our clients in real-time.
Please note that given the criticality of this service DataCapable runs a 24/7/365 operation and weekend and evening availability are required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain an operating knowledge of the DCP tool sets required for the job.
- Learn and understand the various event topics.
- Review and validate or reject event info by searching and researching across various tech platforms.
- Stay up to date with current events and national news.
- Ensure high attention events are identified to oncomingvalidators to reduce the duplication of validated events.
- Contextualize and update event information by researching across various tech
platforms. - Attend all required training including safety briefings, team meetings and refresher training.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in writing, speaking, reading, and understanding English
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow detailed procedures and instruction
- Laptop/Desktop computer and smartphone
- Consistent, stable, reliable internet connection of at least 10Mb/s
- Familiarity with Google maps and business chat applications such as Slack
- Ability to maintain visual and mental concentration for extended periods of time
- Ability to multitask, with a high attention to detail quickly switching between sources of information to monitor multiple events simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while monitoring stressful
situations and events in real time - Awareness of appropriate times to request assistance
- Must be able to work rotating shifts as schedules may change week to week
- Must pass a criminal background check prior to hiring
